To learn a language abroad also means to learn about another culture and to experience a different everyday lifestyle. To make the best of this, we have developed our very own programme which caters for almost all interests. An exciting time beckons!
For those of you with a taste for culture, we offer historical guided tours of Freiburg’s picturesque city centre and its medieval minster. We also have visits to the theatre on the programme. For the sports people amongst you, we offer canoe trips, climbing and football. While here you should certainly not need to rust!
Our excursions to the nearby and breathtakingly beautiful Black Forest and Kaiserstuhl, Alsace and the “Margräflerland” allow you to imbibe the charms of people and country.
We regularly hold socialable evenings in the school. Whether we cook, watch DVD’s or play board- and/or card games, there is always something for everyone. In our long hot summers, we love to enjoy BBQ’s with our famous German sausages and “Schnitzel”. While thus enjoying a bonfire, you’ll find it’s just the right time to try out your German.

And, let’s face it, Freiburg and its environs do offer simply stunning possibilities:
Hiking and trekking in the Black Forest or on the Kaiserstuhl.
For the summer we have a good choice of lakes which invite you to take a swim in their clean and refreshing waters.
In winter the Black Forest is the skier’s and snowboarder’s delight. Or venture down to Switzerland!
If fitness studios are your thing, you will be glad to know that as a language student you will be able to benefit from a rebate. Please ask us for details.
Last but not least – Freiburg is a green city and as such a paradise for cyclists. For one thing it’s not hilly if you want it that way. We enjoy an excellent network of cycle paths, which ensure your safety. That’s why we really do recommend you hire a bike while here or alternatively buy a second hand one. For mountain bikers, our surrounding Black Forest is ideal. You’ll soon be able to test yourself to your limits. And when you reach the mountain summits – well it’ll take your breath away!
